Global Spectrum Names Carrie Jackson National Director of Sales for Convention and Conference Centers

Carrie Jackson has been promoted to National Director of Sales for Global Spectrum-managed convention and conference centers, a key position in which she will be the conduit for sales referrals and event bookings at these facilities.
“We are delighted to have Carrie in this very important position,” said Global Spectrum Chief Operating Officer John Page. “Her expertise, knowledge, and contacts in the convention center and hospitality industries will provide significant benefits to our convention and conference centers of all sizes throughout our entire network of venues.”

Jackson, a 25-year veteran event industry executive, will also continue to serve as Global Spectrum’s Assistant General Manager and Director of Convention Services at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, IA, since 2007.
Prior to joining Global Spectrum at the Iowa Events Center in 2004, she spent 17 years in various sales and event management capacities with Marriott Hotels and Resorts.
“This is a very exciting opportunity for me. I am especially looking forward to working with all of the General Managers in our Global Spectrum system so I can be a up-to-date resource and advisor on opportunities to maximize utilization of our facilities and the talents of our Global Spectrum family of employees,” Jackson said.
In order to provide additional benefits to Global Spectrum buildings, Jackson will be maintaining the company’s national sales database, which includes important information on all aspects of convention center data, including our GPS (Global Prospecting System), attendance, tradeshow lists, show producers, etc.; providing training for Sales Directors on solicitation and database coordination; tradeshow leads to buildings; tracking of booked business for possible multi-venue routing; maintaining contacts with Global Spectrum’s National Marketing Committee; and maintaining a high profile at industry tradeshows and meetings.
“I know there’s a great deal to do,” Jackson said. “But it will be well worth the effort to create more revenue and more hotel room nights for our current and future convention center, conference center, and expositions center clients.”
